From Burroman Flat, drive down River Road towards Shallow Crossing.
- Turn into the laneway beside the ‘Ulladulla Butcher’ sign.
- The upper laneway area is council property, land past the gate is private property.
- Day visitors are welcome.

Between Brooman and Nelligen is Shallow Crossing. It’s a beautiful long concrete water crossing, beside a popular camping ground.
- This crossing is most suited to 4WD vehicles, especially when there are high tides at the ocean.
- To check water depths, we recommend you view the tidal reading for Batemans Bay and add approximately an hour.
- To check river heights see the 'Water Live' app

- It’s approximately 4 leisurely hours to go from Burroman campsite downstream to Shallow Crossing (timing will vary depending on conditions and your kayaking ability).
- A shorter trip, under 4 hours, is to drive upstream towards Yadboro stopping at 'Upside Down Bridge' (navigate using Google Maps from Brooman to Yadboro and you will drive be
- It’s approximately 4 leisurely hours to go from Burroman campsite downstream to Shallow Crossing (timing will vary depending on conditions and your kayaking ability).
- A shorter trip, under 4 hours, is to drive upstream towards Yadboro stopping at 'Upside Down Bridge' (navigate using Google Maps from Brooman to Yadboro and you will drive beside the bridge). Jump in the water there and hop out at Brooman Village or downstream about the same distance to arrive at Burroman campsites.
- The water entry and exit point at Brooman Village is via the grass area near the gully.
- The bridge, Village and Shallow Crossing are other good entrance and exit points using public lands.
- River height and speed data is available on the 'Water Live' app
If you wish to paddle on a lake:

There are many fire trails and other tracks coming off each dirt road.
- Old Coach Road is a good gentle start, it's near Termeil

There are many old trees, these huge trees were left untouched as they were kept for preservations or too big to remove from the forest in the logging horse and cart days.

Old Blotchy is just off the highway near Termeil. It’s a relatively easy drive, 4wd not required if driven to road conditions. Drive south approx 3km from Termeil Petrol Station on the Highway, (if you reach Stephens Creek

Old Blotchy is just off the highway near Termeil. It’s a relatively easy drive, 4wd not required if driven to road conditions. Drive south approx 3km from Termeil Petrol Station on the Highway, (if you reach Stephens Creek you’ve gone too far).
Approach is only from the southbound lane as there are concrete barriers in the middle. Take Eighteen Mile Peg Road & Old Blotchy Road. Walk the last 200m uphill from the mini car park spot.
During the storms in 2021 a huge branch fell from the canopy, it can be seen on the ground nearby.
